About Us

Silvia Eunice Guerrero graduated from SUNY Old Westbury, where she earned a B.A. in Spanish Language, Hispanic Literature & Culture with a minor in Global Studies. Silvia is currently working on her Master of Science in Education at Capella University with a focus on Special Education Teaching. 

Silvia has over 13 years experience working with high-needs students in urban environments.This includes working with English Language Learners and students with IEPs within the general education classroom to create differentiated tasks. Silvia’s personal interest in studying abroad in Spanish speaking countries has given her the language skills and cultural knowledge to reach students that struggle with academic success. 

Silvia has worked with children and volunteered in community organizations ever since middle school, providing her  with a foundation of compassion for working with children. Silvia started her career in education by working as a program aide and group leader in Manhattan from 2009-2012 at Harlem Children Zone and Operation Exodus, while also working as teaching assistant at Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School. Silvia provided support for small group and individualized reading and literacy instruction for ELL students and at-risk students using academic intervention tools. From 2013 to present Silvia, cofunded an inclusive daycare in the Bronx, Garden of Eden with her mother that serves children of all abilities, provided an integrated childcare setting. 

In 2014, Silvia learned how to navigate the early intervention process and special education process in NYC for a child with ADHD and additional learning needs. In 2015 and 2018 Silvia she was able to learn more of the education challenges faced by families of Children on the Autism Spectrum and additional diagnosis such as but not limited to Learning Disability and Speech disorders. 

During this time Silvia worked as an educator at Equality Charter School working with students in an under-served community. During her time at Equality Charter School, Silvia served as a team leader creating and building support for students with IEPs, creating resources for parents, while teaching Spanish 1 in an Integrated Classroom Setting. In 2021, Silvia transitioned to providing academic tutoring in Spanish for individuals and groups with Prep Academy Tutors of Westchester. 

As the CEO of S&S Educational Consultant, Silvia uses her expertise to facilitate the Special Education process, ensuring that each child gains the individualized support and guidance needed for them to excel as an individual both socio-emotionally and academically. Silvia offers her clients deep insight into special education and the entire process, with this competitive advantage, her students and families have experienced success with individualized education plans, IFSPs and supports related to their individual needs.

Silvia currently works with families as an educational advocate and consultant, she holds a high record of success with consultation,securing private placement, educational support and additional services for the families she serves. The focus of her work is centered on providing equitable access to learning and individualized support for all children despite their background or diagnosis.
